Class timings that fit a Chennai day
Chennai schools often start early, and the afternoon heat makes travel unpleasant for much of the year. Many families pick an evening class after Maghrib, when it is cooler and children have finished homework. Parents working in the IT corridor on the OMR often choose late night.
During the north-east monsoon, when roads flood, online classes simply continue.

Language and the mushaf
Our teachers explain in English, Urdu or Hindi; they do not teach in Tamil. Many Chennai children study in English-medium schools and follow English explanations well, and Urdu-speaking families can choose Urdu. The Quran is always read in Arabic; both Indo-Pak and Uthmani mushafs are fine.
Who learns with us in Chennai
We teach Chennai children starting Noorani Qaida, students who can read but want correct makharij, adults who learned as children and want to refresh, and ladies who prefer a female teacher.
Tamil-speaking learners sometimes find the Arabic ‘ض’, ‘ظ’ and the throat letters new, since Tamil has no close match. These are taught slowly with plenty of repetition, and the teacher listens to each one until it is right.
Courses
The same four Quran courses run in every city: Noorani Qaida online for beginners, Nazra Quran online for fluent reading, online Tajweed classes for correct recitation, and online Hifz classes for memorisation. Classes are live on Zoom or Skype. The teacher shares the Quran page on screen, listens to every word and corrects mistakes as they happen.
