How a Hifz class runs
Each class is 30 minutes, 5 days a week, 20 classes a month. A typical class has four parts:
- Sabaq check: the student recites the last lesson from memory.
- Sabqi and manzil: an older portion is revised, so earlier surahs and juz aren’t forgotten.
- New lesson: a few lines or ayahs, sized to what the student can hold without strain.
- Homework: a clear amount to revise before the next class.
The teacher corrects pronunciation while the student memorises, because a mistake learned by heart is hard to undo later. Students who want the rules in depth can also take our online Tajweed classes.
How fast will it go?
Honestly, it depends: on age, how well the student reads, how regularly they attend and how much they revise at home. So we don’t promise a finish date. The teacher sets a daily portion the student can carry, slows down when school exams arrive and moves faster when things are going well. Parents are welcome to sit in on any class and see how it’s going.
Fitting Hifz around school and work
Because classes run 24/7 in IST, families pick the hour when the student is actually calm: after Fajr before school, late afternoon before tuition, or after dinner once homework is done. Male and female teachers are available at any time, so you can choose a female Quran teacher if you prefer.
